Gaskins receives CASp Certification

The McIntosh Group is pleased to announce that Principal Brad Gaskins has passed the Certified Access Specialist examination given by the California Department of General Services.  As a state architect with CASp certification, Mr. Gaskins can review facility plans and specifications for compliance with state and federal accessibility laws, codes and regulations. He can also conduct accessibility research, prepare reports and conduct accessibility inspections.

The program is designed to meet the public’s need for experienced, trained, and tested individuals who can render opinions as to the compliance of buildings and sites with the State of California codes and regulations and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for accessibility.

The ADA specifies that buildings must be accessible to all people with disabilities and companies not in compliance with these rules must move towards compliance. Mr. Gaskins’ certification allows him to review and provide expertise in that arena. He can investigate businesses for compliance and work with companies to remove all accessibility barriers from their facilities.
